Each week we offer our Support Group to our clients. The goal of our programs are to provide men an opportunity to address barriers to integration and build positive relational and life skills in supportive and facilitated group settings. Our Mental Health and Addiction group “Seeking Safety” helps individuals understand trauma and addiction and provide information and coping skills to help them on their reintegration journey. This is a “stage one” group and doesn’t offer one to one counselling or require participants to share or hear traumatic information that may cause triggers.

The Thursday Dinners and Togetherness Group is a program offered each week to our clients. Clients and Staff share a meal together in order to offer support for those who may live alone and be dealing with trauma. After Covid, many individuals experienced trauma due to isolation and scary world events. For our clients, this isolation may have re-traumatized them from the isolation and lack of connection they experienced while incarcerated. Through the help of the United Way, our program is offering men the chance to gather and enjoy a meal together with friendly faces to help fight trauma and isolation.

The Criminal Relapse Prevention Program focuses on assisting clients with understanding their involvement with both addiction and criminal behaviours. Clients will examine their life and piece together common factors that are shown to contribute to addiction and criminal behaviour (trauma, environmental factors, lack of support, unmeet needs). After understanding why these behaviours may have occurred, clients can find ways to reduce those risks from reoccurring. This program will assist clients by providing tools and coping skills to assist clients in maintaining their recovery from addiction and criminal activity.
